And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. — Revelation 12:11
There's something powerful tucked inside this verse that we often rush past. The early believers in Revelation weren't overcoming their enemy with sheer willpower or religious performance. They had two weapons: the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony. Both mattered. Both were necessary.
The word translated "testimony" here carries the same root as our word martyr. These weren't polished speeches or carefully rehearsed spiritual highlight reels. These were real accounts of what God had actually done. The people speaking them had lived through something hard and could point back and say, "He was faithful there."
We tend to underestimate the weight our stories carry. Not just for others, but for ourselves. When you speak out loud what God brought you through, something shifts. You remember that you didn't navigate that season alone. You remember that the thing you were sure would bury you actually didn't. That matters more than we realize, especially on the ordinary Saturdays when nothing feels particularly significant.
Your testimony doesn't have to be dramatic to be powerful. It doesn't require a near-death moment or a miraculous healing. It might simply be, "I was exhausted and God gave me strength I didn't have on my own." Or, "I was convinced I couldn't do this, and somehow I did."
Someone around you needs to hear what God did in the middle of your mess. And honestly? You might need to hear yourself say it too.

Lord, thank You for every moment You've carried me through. Give me the courage to speak about what You've done, not just think about it quietly. Let my story become something that builds faith in me and in the people around me. I don't want to take Your faithfulness for granted or keep it to myself. Today, remind me of where You showed up, and give me the words to share it. Amen.
