For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your thoughts and my thoughts than your thoughts. โ Isaiah 55:8-9
My internet crashed yesterday right before an important video call. You know that panicky feeling when technology fails us at the worst possible moment? I scrambled around, restarting routers and calling tech support, getting more frustrated by the minute.
Then my neighbor knocked on the door. She'd been struggling with some heavy news and just needed someone to talk to. If my wi-fi hadn't gone down, I would've been buried in my meeting, completely unavailable for what turned out to be exactly what she needed.
This got me thinking about today's passage. We make our plans, set our schedules, and expect everything to flow according to our timeline. When disruptions happen, our first instinct is often irritation or stress. But what if those interruptions are actually God's gentle redirections?
I'm not saying God breaks our internet (though He certainly could). But I do believe He can use our unexpected moments, our detours, even our technical difficulties to position us exactly where we need to be. His perspective is so much broader than ours.
Maybe that delayed flight connects you with someone who needs encouragement. Perhaps that canceled appointment gives you time to rest when you didn't even realize you were running on empty. God's ways often look like inconvenience from our limited viewpoint, but His timing is always perfect.
Next time your plans get scrambled, take a breath. Ask God what He might be up to instead of immediately fighting to get back on track.
๐ A Prayer for Today
Lord, help me trust Your timing even when it doesn't match mine. When my plans get interrupted, give me eyes to see the opportunities You're creating and a heart willing to follow Your lead instead of my agenda. Thank You that Your ways are always better than mine, even when I can't see it yet. Amen.
