Growing in Grace

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. โ€” 2 Peter 3:18

Dear friend, have you ever watched a plant reach toward the light? No matter how it's positioned, it naturally turns and stretches toward the source of life and warmth. This beautiful picture reflects what Peter encourages us to do today: grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus.

Growth is rarely dramatic or instant. Just as a seedling doesn't become a mighty oak overnight, our spiritual growth happens gradually, through daily choices to seek Jesus. Some days we might feel like we're not making progress, but God sees every small step forward.

Notice that Peter mentions both grace and knowledge together. Grace without knowledge can lead us astray, while knowledge without grace can make us prideful. But when we pursue both, we become more like Christ. His grace transforms our hearts while His truth renews our minds.

Today, consider one simple way you can grow. Perhaps it's spending five more minutes in prayer, showing patience to someone difficult, or reading one verse with fresh eyes. Growth happens in the small moments, in the daily turning toward Jesus.

Remember, you're not growing in your own strength. God's grace is actively working in you, drawing you closer to Him. Like that plant reaching for sunlight, let your heart naturally turn toward the One who loves you most. He delights in your growth, celebrating every step of your journey with Him.

๐Ÿ™ A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your patience with me as I grow. Help me to seek both Your grace and knowledge daily. Show me one way I can grow closer to You today. May my life bring glory to Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
